In today’s world, media and other members of the 99% are
constantly degrading the one percent and this is a bit unfair. It may seem a bit unfair that they are looked
at negatively by the 99% because the majority (59% as of 2004 and increasing-Forbes)
of them are self made billionaires that worked hard to get where they are
today. Many of these people that live in the one percent are also
philanthropists and they give more in a year than most people will make in a
lifetime. My goal is to take a look at
the one percent and see the good that they do for the people in this world. The link that I will provide below is a list
from Forbes that shows the yearly total of the top 50 givers in America.

Hi Andrew,
ReplyDeleteI think this is an interesting project idea and one that could be really worthwhile, however, for the parameters of this project this group doesn't really fit the requirements. Having wealth is not widely understood as something that marginalizes someone or disadvantages them. I do think a project that looks at how the 1% are represented in popular texts could be really interesting; it just doesn't fit for this project.
So, you want to think of another group you might be interested in looking at. I really like that your thinking creatively here and outside of the box and I encourage you to keep doing that, just think a little bit more specifically about the requirements of the assignment. Once you have an idea of another group you think you might want to look at, send me an email so I can give you some more feedback.
